"PUSSY ON THE STAGE".........WTF!!!!

Me and Ms. Stress (pictured below)performed at The Island Cafe in DC this Saturday Night (3/11/06)............here's what went down, well some of it.....a lot of sh*t went down that night! LOL

When I prepare for shows, I try to imagine everything that could possibly go wrong........so that I can be ready for whatever. But I damn sure wasn't prepared to hear: "PUSSY ON THE STAGE" being shouted as I took the stage @ The Island Cafe in DC. What's even more surprising is that this seemed to be 'the norm' for when females took to the stage to perform.....cuz even the females were saying it! In my mind, I'm conflicted cuz I feel disrespected, but I'm also in foreign territory so-to-speak and don't want to rub the crowd wrong. But needless to say the "QUEEN" in me couldn't allow that........ I grabbed the mic and said:

"Heeeeeeeeyyyyyy, there won't be none of that bullshit when I'm up here, I've worked too hard for my respect!!!" and even to my surprise the crowd started cheering! From that point on the crowd fed into my every word and movement. Even to the point that the DJ had to tell them to move back from me, but I let him and the crowd know that I wanted them close to me, cuz I feed off of their energy.....and I came off the stage and got closer to them. This seemed to win them over even more. My set consisted of an acapella 16, 'You Rollin' and 'RAW'....during the entire set there wasn't a dull moment. I love getting love and support in B-More, but thats homebase.......I'm sorta known there, to go to DC and have a crowd of 100+ singing your hooks, after only hearing them 1 time......that feeling is WILD!!!!

B-More had great representation all around, cuz my sis Ms. Stress performed later in the night and absolutely killed it. She started off with a killer freestyle, and hit em with "I used to", the crowd immediately gravitated towards this song and began to sing the hook for her. Stress ended her set with an emotional and heartfelt 16 that I believe made the crowd dig her even more! I know Rio, Dez, and Sean Toure were very pleased with both of our performances that night!

I don't know about Stress, but more than anything else..........I had fun performing again, and I really needed that!!! Not to mention, I made a good amount of money that night. Big shout out to Nakkia (a.k.a. Misundastood) for having me and Stress perform at your B-Day Extravaganzaa.

Oh yeah, I can't forget the lovely ladies of the DC Rap Divas........your hospitality and support is very much appreciated. Not to mention the fact that yall's set was rockin', we gotta hook up!

Baltimore City Paper shows Shellz some love!!

With everything going on, I forgot to let yall know that the City Paper did a little Blurb on the "Even a Man Can Do This" All Female Hip Hop Revue that took place on Saturday. OH YES............check out page 49 of this weeks City Paper. Just a lil somethin', somethin' you know.

Check it out!!

Look at my lil Angeline Jolie thing I got going (LOL)...........would you believe I took that pic myself on my sidekick? Well I did!! I swear that sidekick was the best $199.99 I ever spent!

The good news is that this Blurb.....led to an actual article with the paper. I was interviewd by Jaye Hunnie (and yes, she's OOWE too!!) yesterday. It actually was avery fun and informal interview.....I can't wait to see it in print. It should be on stands in early April. Things are starting to happen......don't yall see it! Stick with me!!

Bleek and Budden.....I met em, LOL

Gotta love Kelly Connelly (of Music Monthly), she had the oppurtunity to go to the Memphis Bleek and Joe Budden show at Club Fur in DC on Friday (3/3/06), and guess she took as her date...........yup ME!!! I swear Kelly you treat me sooooo good, first Jaye's wedding, now this........these guys could take some pointers from you. LOL

I was in V.I.P. all night, I was actually sitting and chilling with Joe Budden.....who is a real sweetheart. He greeted ALL of his fans, took pictures and everything. Here's mine :

Don't we look cute together.........LOL, let me stop! BTW , he even took a cd from me, let's see if he provides some feedback! (One can dream right???)

I also got to meet Memphis Bleek.........

He wasn't as friendly...........matter of fact, I got the ONLY picture he took that night. Good for me, bad for everyone else...........and Bleek, that's not a good look Boo!

Eitherway, both of em had great performances. But get this, Joe Budden was still nervous........he was fidgeting and had to smoke a cigarette. This was sooooooo cute to me. And it made me feel good, like "OK, even he is STILL nervous"

I love Hip Hop!!

"Even a Man Can Do This" .......I think!!!

"Even a Man Can Do This".............the all Female HipHop Revue took place this Saturday (3/4/06) @ the Belvedere Hotel Lounge. Big Shoutouts go to Tasha (of Divine Ideals), DJ P-Funk (ElementsParty), all of the performers, the press, and all of the spectators.....Oh yea, last but not least my sisters of OOWE (Organization of Women in Entertainment)who were sooooooooo deep in the spot that night!

Performances:
The Mighty Paradocks - They were HipHop Rock Stars I loved it! They had great chemistry on stage together.

Tha Plague - They looked flawless............I was digging the outfits. Song selection was great too!

GoldenSeal - These two ladies look like they are always having fun on stage. They have so much energy, and I did the caribbean influence too!

B-Fly - Proved that you can be the first lady of a clique/movement and still hold it down SOLO (we definitely have a lot in common!).........her set was excellent.

As for me.........yo I can't lie I was so nervous. Its something about performing among ya female peers that brings a certain level of excitement and angst. Among the guys you stand out naturally, becasue you ARE a woman. But as a woman, how do you stand out among the WOMEN??? I ain't gonna downplay my performance.........I killed that shit! Everyone who came to see ShellBe RAW left satisfied.......so I guess the nervousness helped! Ogun was sick, and I made him jump up on stage with me.....J-Fingaz told me I killed it, and he hardly says that......EVER! Not to mention the endless other folks whom I don't know that complimented me, and even thanked me for my performance. I'm proud of myself......

Here is the only pic I have from the show (for now at least)........3 Ladies of OOWE - Jodie Fair, Me (ShellBe RAW), and Sherida (S&M Management)
